Students and parents gathered yesterday evening at the Markham Place School in Little Silver to leave tributes to Don Merce, the school’s 58-year-old principal, who was killed in a car accident earlier in the day on Oceanport Avenue in Oceanport.

The Asbury Park Press has coverage of the crash investigation as well as of a memorial held last night at the school.
