RED BANK YARD SALE GETS GREEN LIGHT

Pathetic_yard_sale_signs2Pathetic Charmingly simple yard sale signage points the way to unknown treasures.

Mark those calendars, folks. The first-ever Red Bank Townwide Yard Sale is a go for Saturday, September 20, rain or shine.

The borough council approved the event Monday night, clearing the way for block after block of bargains.

As part of the approval, the council set a $10 registration fee for participants to offset additional costs for the the Public Works department. Here’s the resolution on the matter: Download 08-162.pdf

redbankgreen, Prown’s Home Improvements and the Antique Center of Red Bank are lending promotional support to the event. That will include a dedicated webpage of information, complete with registration forms, addresses of participating sellers, information on bulk waste pickup and recycling options, and more. So watch this space.

Meantime, redbankgreen continues to offer local residents an opportunity to tout their own yard sales. Here’s one coming up this weekend, a joint affair:

Where 54 East sunset ave.
> when August 16
> time 9am til about 3 or so
> what do we got? A little bit of everything. It has turned out to be a 4 family sale with a lot of clothes, furniture and household items and an almost new futon. There will be some backyard toys for kids and the little ones will be selling lemonade, got to get start on college! LOL

If you live in the redbankgreen coverage area — Lincroft to Sea Bright, between or near the Navesink and Shrewsbury rivers — and are planning a yard sale, feel free send us an email with the following information:

• The words ‘Yard Sale’ in the subject line

• Full address

• Date and hours of sale and rain date, if any

• Any special items you’d like to mention

• Your name and phone number (neither of these will be published; we need them to verify submissions).
