For the third time in little more than two weeks, a dead dolphin has been found locally, the Associated Press reports.

The discovery of a dolphin corpse outside the riverfront home of pop singer Bon Jovi on Saturday raises further questions about the fate of a pod of 16 Atlantic bottlenose dolphins that spent seven months in the Shrewsbury and Navesink rivers starting last June.

Tests were not yet complete Sunday on two dolphin corpses found recently near the Route 36 bridge between Highlands and Sea Bright and on the beach at Victory Park in Rumson, the AP reports.

Confirmation that all three were part of the pod would bring the death count to 16.
