Hyperbole aside, the article frames the race among the candidates: board Vice President Ann Roseman; recent appointees Toni Brown and Carrie Ludwikowski; and Grace Costa, who served on the board at Red Bank Regional High School for 23 years.
The race happens at a good time in the district, which is being funded and used as a model by the state for a preschool program for 3-year-olds, has partnerships with the Count Basie and Two River theaters for arts programs for students and has won grants for its after-school and enrichment programs.
On the downside, board members are faced with dealing with standardized test scores that didn’t pass muster this year.
The article gives a little background on each candidate an reports that there are no candidates for the remaining year on the term of Mary Ellen Mess, who is stepping down from the board.
