Former shop owner Susan Ericson's "gigantic, blowout, clean-out-the-house" yard sale has turned into a neighborhood event on her cul-de-sac.
Susan Ericson used to have a store on River Road in Fair Haven called Black Eyed Susans
Kitchen that sold vintage collectibles and small, household treasures.
On Saturday, she'll turn her home inside-out with a yard sale, offering numerous items that used to be in the store "at yard sale prices," she says.
A number of Ericson's neighbors on their cul-de-sac off Harding Road in Fair Haven will be holding sales as well, she tells redbankgreen.
Her own yard sounds like one not to miss. Ericson says her house alone probably has "more stuff to sell than all of the houses" on Madison Avenue, Red Bank, the site of last week's featured sale. "We have everything from antiques and framed
art work to furniture and tons of books especially cookbooks."
Ericson, a self-described "magpie," has helpful descriptions and photos of her goods on her blog, also called Black Eyed Susan's Kitchen.
The event starts at 9a; rain date is Sunday, though the weather forecast is for mostly sunny skies with a high temp of (gulp) 79 degrees.
Oaklawn Road is opposite the Alderbrook gated community on Harding Road.
If you're having a yard sale, let us know and
we'll get the word out. Send us all the information date, time,
location and rain date, if any, who's participating and what's being sold in an email at least ten days in advance. Please put the words "yard sale" in the subject line.
And please be sure to talk up the second annual Red Bank Townwide Yard Sale coming September 19. More details about sign-ups and so on will be available around mid-summer.
