After one of the wettest Jersey shore summers on record, the first full day of autumn 2009 looks to be a bit damp, too.
The National Weather Service tells us we may get thunderstorms this afternoon. But the outlook for the weekend is encouraging.
Here’s the outlook for coming days:
Today: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Southwest wind between 3 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: A chance of showers, mainly before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind between 6 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Thursday: A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. West wind between 6 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. North wind around 9 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 71. North wind between 10 and 15 mph.
