MELTON DEATH BEING TREATED AS MURDER

just_inRed Bank teacher Jonelle Melton‘s death is being treated as a homicide by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office, the Asbury Park Press reports.

But no cause of death and other details of the case are still being withheld, the newspaper reports.

From the Press:

Further results of an autopsy performed by the county’s medical examiner will not be made public, [First Assistant Prosecutor Peter] Warshaw said.

He declined to comment further about the cause of Melton’s death or the circumstances that lead up to a 911 call to city police at about 9 a.m. on Monday.

Melton was found dead in her Neptune City apartment that morning. An earlier report aid she was found by her husband, Michael Melton, from whom she was separated. Both were employed as teachers at the Red Bank Middle School
