UNDAUNTED BY A SOGGY DAY

Mother Nature could have been a touch more sympathetic. But many of the more than 100 residents who signed up to participate as sellers in the second annual Red Bank Townwide Yard Sale stuck to their plans, employing makeshift tarps, porches, garages and their living rooms as selling areas.

Buyers, too, seemed undaunted by the mix of mists, drizzles and rains that fell throughout the day, carting off armloads of treasures from yards and driveways.

The Red Bank Public Library, which piggybacked on the event with a book sale in its splendid New Jersey room, also appeared to be doing brisk business.

Thanks to all who participated. Hope to see you all again next year.
