This is one of our favorite events of the year: the Curchin Open.
We’re talking nine holes of miniature golf played on elaborately crafted greens that have been laid out get this between the cubicles and copy stations of the Curchin Group, a Red Bank accounting firm.
Yeah, accountants. And these folks know how to put on a fun, successful event, complete with food and drink. Last year they raised $12,000 for local charities with this thing.
The fourth annual open is Tuesday, October 27, from 3 to 7p at the fourth-floor offices of Curchin Group, 200 Schulz Road (just off Half Mile Road).
Player fees are $20 per person, which includes one round of golf, food and beverages.
All proceeds benefit two locally-based charities: the Monmouth Museum and Mercy Center – the Sisters Academy of Asbury Park.

Located in Lincroft, New Jersey, The Monmouth Museum was founded in 1963 and is one of the top five museums in New Jersey. With the help of donated funds, the Museum promotes and supports activities that contribute to the vitality of the region and enhance cultural endeavors.
Mercy Center the Sisters Academy of Asbury Park focuses on educating middle-school aged girls from economically challenged families in order to give them access to a high-caliber education. Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy at the Mercy Center, the program also allows the girls to participate in after-school tutoring, social services, and a summer camp.
