WEATHER: A MIXED BAG THIS WEEKEND

A good day for fence painting gives way to mostly cloudy skies today and drenchy conditions tomorrow before the sun returns Sunday. Or so says the National Weather Service.

Here’s the forecast for our area:

Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. East wind between 8 and 11 mph.

Tonight: Periods of rain. Low around 55. Southeast wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: Showers likely, then occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. High near 70. South wind between 11 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers. Low around 53. South wind 11 to 17 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 63. Northwest wind between 9 and 14 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.

Monday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
