A possible suicide attempt led to a massive rescue effort near the Oceanic Bridge in Rumson Sunday evening.
An unidentified victim was fished out of the Navesink River and taken to a nearby hospital shortly after 7p.
The victim’s condition and name were not immediately available.
Reports of a jumper brought out swarms of police and rescue squad personnel and led to a temporary closing of the bridge, which links Rumson and Middletown. A helicopter was also used in the search.
Patrons of the Salt Creek Grille watched the rescue operation unfolding in just outside at the foot the restaurant dock.
