Red Bank police took four minors into custody Sunday following a fire in the garage of a vacant Bank Street house on Sunday.
In a press release issued this afternoon, police Captain Darren McConnell said the 10:56a blaze was intentionally set.
Volunteer firefighers quickly quashed the blaze, and no structural damage resulted, he said.

On Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 10:56 am the Red Bank Police
Department and Red Bank Fire Department responded to a fire in a vacant
garage on Bank Street. The fire, which was intentionally set, was
contained to the garage and was quickly extinguished by the fire
department. The garage itself did not sustain any structural damage.
Shortly after the blaze was reported, four juveniles were taken into custody
and charged with setting the fire. The juveniles, a 13 year old from Red
Bank, a 13 year old from Staten Island NY, an 11 year old from Red Bank,
and a 8 year old from Red Bank were all released to their parents. The
matter has been transferred to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office
who will review the case and file charges against the juveniles.
