Red Bank-based American Recreational Military Services will be collecting personal-care items for shipment to Haiti this Saturday.
A truck from Convoy of Hope, a Missouri-based nonprofit that mobilizes volunteers to provide food and water to those in need, will be on-site at the Little Silver Fire Department on Prospect Avenue from 11a to 3p to collect items.
Convoy of Hope has been in Haiti since the January 12 earthquake and will transport the items below to the needed areas.
In conjunction with this effort, a supply pick-up will be held at the Monmouth County Hall of Records in Freehold from noon until 4p to aid in filling this truck.
Items needed include:
Toothbrushes and mouthwash
Soap
Eye drops
Baby wipes
Powder
Baby formula
Shampoo
Deodorant
Combs
Hand towels
Over-the-counter first aid items
Over-the-counter medicines such as aspirin
Monetary donations are also needed. Checks should be made out to Convoy of Hope, which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
American Recreational Military Services packages donated necessities to servicemen and servicewomen overseas.
