A Little Silver man faces drunken driving and other charges after a hit-and-run crash and a second one that ended on the Goose Neck Bridge on Seven Bridges Road Saturday night, borough police say.
Joseph F. Hall Jr., 58, was charged with failure to keep right, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the department’s spokesman, Sergeant Dan Shaffery.
Here’s a narrative of events provided by Shaffery:
At approximately 9:05 p.m., Little Silver Police received a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Rumson Rd. near the intersection with Harding Road. A vehicle operated by Hall struck a vehicle on Rumson Road while turning from Harding Rd. onto Rumson Road.
Hall left the scene of that accident and continued southbound on Seven Bridges Rd. where he crashed again on the Goose Neck Bridge, disabling his vehicle by striking a curb in the southbound lane, veering off and striking another curb on the northbound lane and coming to a stop on the sidewalk on the southbound lane.
Hall was transported to Monmouth Medical Center with minor injuries and blood was taken.
