WEATHER PUTS A SPRING IN THE STEP

Might we finally say goodbye to the snowy winter of 2010?

With two weeks to go until the start of spring, it seems premature to pack away the boots and parkas. But Tuesday’s taste of warm weather was enticing, wasn’t it?

Here’s the forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 54. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 48. East wind between 6 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Rain. Low around 42. East wind between 8 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday: Rain. High near 52. East wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Rain. Low around 45. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: Rain. High near 54. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Saturday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 44. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50.
