FEBRUARY ACCIDENT VICTIM DIES

just_in1The Staten Island woman who was struck by an SUV as she crossed Broad Street in Red Bank on foot two months ago has died.

Alla Tsiring, 44, died over the weekend at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune from injuries caused by the accident, according to police Captain Darren McConnell.

Tsiring was crossing Broad from west to east at East Bergen Place on February 22 when she was struck and trapped beneath the SUV driven by Diana Palma of Red Bank, police said.

Palma, 37, was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and careless driving. The case remains under review by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office, which is expected to decide within a week whether to bring additional charges, McConnell tells redbankgreen.

Tsiring worked as a bookkeeper at Martin, Ottaway, Van Hemmen & Dolan Inc. marine engineering firm on Monmouth Street. She is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter, according to a colleague.

A memorial service was held today at a chapel in Staten Island.
