BLAZE DESTROYS RED BANK HOME

A fast-moving fire tore through a Red Bank house early Friday afternoon.
No injuries were reported in connection with the fire, at a two-story wood-framed house on Bank Street, just a few doors west of Shrewsbury Avenue.
The two-alarm blaze, reported at about 12:45, brought out a large contingent of volunteer firefighters.
It also blanketed the center part of town with a haze of gray smoke and led to a shutdown of a portion of Shrewsbury Avenue. which is also state Highway 35.
The fire appeared to be out by 1:20p. No immediate information about a possible cause was available.
