Fair Haven police are searching for a suspect who robbed a bank on River Road Monday afternoon.
The suspect, believed to be a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old, went into PNC Bank at around 3:30 yesterday and demanded money, Lieutenant Joseph McGovern said in a statement.
The robber left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and may have gotten into a black Volkswagen Passat that had no license plate, McGovern said.
The man was light-skinned, stood around five-foot-seven, was wearing large, gold-framed glasses and a black hooded sweatshirt, police said.
This is the second bank robbery in Fair Haven in the last three months. Prior to that, it hadn’t happened in more than 20 years.
Police ask that anyone with information in the robbery call Fair Haven police (747-0991) or the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office (431-7012).
