Middletown police say they have arrested a bookkeeper on charges of defrauding a Lincroft dermatologist.
Here’s the announcement, provided by department spokesman Lieutenant Steve Dollinger:
On March 4, 2010 police received a report from Doctor Diana Trusky’s Dermatologist Office located in the Lincroft section of Middletown in reference to forged checks and missing cash receipts. Dfc Lawrence Hall was assigned to the case and conducted an eight month investigation into the matter which entailed obtaining and reviewing numerous documents.
Dfc. Hall’s investigation revealed that an independent bookkeeper, identified as Lisa England, age 39, from Seventeenth Avenue in Brick, NJ, who was hired by the doctor’s office, committed the thefts and forged the checks. England forged the doctor’s signature and issued checks to her company, S&E Consulting and Design, Inc which operates out of Brick and Asbury Park, NJ, for services that had not been provided.
Dfc. Hall also discovered that England had billed the office for hours that she did not work and had also fraudulently enrolled herself in the doctor’s office employee’s group health and benefits program. The total loss to the Dermatologist office was just under $18,000.00.
Dfc. Hall arrested England on November 12, 2010. She was charged with one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking, four counts of Forgery and one count of Insurance Fraud. Bail was set at $35,000.00 no 10% by Judge Michael Pugliese.
Dollinger told redbankgreen that the arrest took place at England’s current place of employment in Red Bank, which is not part of the investigation.
