For the second straight week, multiple unlocked vehicles were entered into and robbed Monday, Fair Haven police said.
This time, the thefts occurred in the central part of town, closer to the river, said Detective Jesse Dykstra.
The department is still investigating how many cars were entered.
Dykstra said unknown suspects went into the vehicles in the morning and throughout the day Monday and took electronics, money and personal credentials from consoles and glove boxes.
The flurry of thefts raises red flags with the department, which is still investigating 30 break-ins that occurred last week, Dykstra said.
“We have steps we’re going to take,” to heighten enforcement, he said, but since it is an active investigation, added, “I can’t really elaborate on that.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dykstra at 732.747.0241, extension 332.
The department strongly urges residents to lock their doors.
