WEEKEND OUTLOOK: CHANCE OF BOOMERS

After Thursday night’s thunderstorms broke the back of a two-day heatwave that saw local temperatures pushing 100 degrees, temps are expected to settle back down into the high 80s Friday.

A chance of rain and boomers will loom throughout the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Here’s the outlook:

Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. North wind between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 76. East wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. West wind between 9 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
