MERCURY RISING: DON’T BE CRABBY

We’ve got a series of increasingly scorching days ahead as temperatures in the Red Bank area push upward toward triple digits later this week.
The National Weather Service forecasts temps peaking at around 90 degrees Tuesday, climbing higher Wednesday, and settling in at a stifling 97 both Thursday and Friday.
And there’s no relief in sight.
Here’s the extended forecast:
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. North wind between 5 and 7 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Northwest wind between 3 and 6 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. East wind at 11 mph becoming south.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 73. South wind between 7 and 10 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Southwest wind between 8 and 14 mph.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 75.
Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 97.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 77.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 75.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
