Curious locals gathered on the closed Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge around 10 a.m. Sunday as it became clear that Hurricane Irene was passing without inflicting anything like the degree of damage to the region that meterologists expected. Sea Bright, however, remained closed to all but oceanfront property owners because of flooding, police Chief John Sorrentino tells redbankgreen. “The hurricane kind of fizzled,” he tells redbankgreen.
