TWO CHARGED IN QUICK STOP ROBBERY

Recent activity reports, unedited, as provided by the Middletown Township Police Department.

call-in-the-authoritiesOn January 31, 2012 Detectives Laurence Schachtel, Adam Finck and William Strohkirch arrested Christopher Martin, age 26, from West Washington Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, and Trevor Pituk, age 23, from Center Avenue in Leonardo, NJ, for committing an armed robbery that took place on January 12, 2012 at the Quick Stop Convenience Store located on Leonard Avenue in Leonardo, NJ.

Police say Martin entered the store with a butcher knife and demanded money from the clerk while Pituk acted as a look out.  The pair then fled the scene. Police credit Corporal Ronald Chesek and Patrolman Donald Coates with developing the information that led to the arrests.

Pituk was charged with Robbery, Conspiracy and Hindering Apprehension and was being held on $35,000.000 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson. Martin was charged with Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Conspiracy and Hindering Apprehension. He was held on $55,000.00 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the following subjects for various offenses:

• Adam Stranges, age 20, from Sandy Hook Avenue in Belford, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Patrolman Richard Belmonte on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Highlands Municipal Court. He was held on $$630.00 bail.

• Justin Lewallen, age 19, from Division Street in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• Dawn Haviland, age 40, from Rector Place in Red Bank, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Corporal Douglas Wiatrak on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was held on $1,500.00 bail.

• Gregory Kemp, age 21, from Manor Parkway in Lincroft, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Corporal Keith MacDonald on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court date.

• Roxanne Paulino, age 22, from Ferb Boulevard North in Harrison, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Patrolman Ryan Riffert on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was released after posting $1,000.00 bail.

• Nicholas Castaldi, age 27, from 63rd Avenue in Forest Hills, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Patrolman Anthony Gigante on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $1,000.00 bail.

• Michael Amitrani, age 19, from Blanche Court in Middletown, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Corporal Thomas Meckier on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $250.00 bail.

• Michael Burns, age 32, from Tindall Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Corporal Keith MacDonald on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Wall Municipal Court. He was held on $1,856.69 bail.

• Andrew Laffey, age 30, from Atlantic Avenue in Long Branch, NJ, arrested on January 30, 2011 by Patrolman Frank Mazza and Patrolman John Mele of the Quality Of Life Unit for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• Samuel Mueller, age 30, from Leonardville Road in Belford, NJ, arrested on January 30, 2012 by Corporal George Freibott on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $500.00 bail.

• On January 30, 2012 Patrolman Greg Buhowski arrested a 17 year old male juvenile from Atlantic Highlands, NJ, for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• Michael Kelly, age 24, from Hutchinson Drive in Middletown, NJ, arrested on February 1, 2012 by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $500.00 bail.

• Donovan Marques, age 22, from Napoleon Street in Newark, NJ, arrested on February 1, 2012 by Patrolman Jason Caruso for Disorderly Conduct. He was released pending a court date.

• Donly Pierre, age 32, from Ontario Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Patrolman Stephen Greenwood on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Asbury Municipal Court. He was released after posting $225.00 bail.

• Eric Buie, age 40, from Oak Street in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Patrolman Stephen Greenwood on a Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown and Atlantic Highlands Municipal Court. He was held on $750.00 bail.

• Cameron Maletto, age 18, from Ravine Road in Red Bank, NJ, arrested on January 31, 2012 by Patrolman James Beirne for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.
