WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS?

One reader slipped and fell, but eighteen others skated to the correct answer to last week’s Where.

The mistaken reader thought the photo was from the New Jersey State Trooper station beside the Garden State Parkway in Holmdel.

For the record, we only use photos from within redbankgreen‘s hyperlocal coverage area, extending from Lincroft to Sea Bright.

No, the photo showed a detail of the former Red Bank Armory on Chestnut Street, built in 1914 for Troop B of the National Guard’s Red Bank Cavalry. Once used for equestrian drills and exhibitions, the facility was converted to the Red Bank Armory Ice Complex in the late 1990s.
