TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for all 21 New Jersey counties Monday morning.
The alert is in effect until 5 p.m., the agency said.
From the NWS:
THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL FROM THIS
AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING WHICH COULD RESULT IN FLOODING IN
AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE. ALSO, SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE
AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING HOURS MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG
WIND GUSTS.
The Weather Channel is calling for thunderstorms but made no immediate mention of possible tornadoes.
