Press release from Red Bank Regional High School
Class of 1998 Red Bank Regional (RBR) alumnus Matt Craw of Little Silver answered the call to service in the U.S. Marine Corps after he watched New York’s Twin Towers smoldering from the Jersey Shore. He returned home suffering the effects of post traumatic stress, and found a way to deal with his pain — through writing, with the resulting book The Song Each Bullet Sings: The Story of Operation Iraqi Freedom Through the Eyes of One Marine serving as an important part of the healing process.
English teacher Andrew Forrest, a fellow alumnus, invited Matt to bring his powerful story to the students of RBR’s Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences — and today, Matt Craw will address the AHSS students to talk about his life as a U.S. Marine during Operation Iraqi freedom — and to discuss how writing can be therapeutic as well as informative.
Presentations will take place in two sessions inside the RBR auditorium, at 10:40 am and again at 1 pm. Copies of The Song Each Bullet Sings are available at Amazon.com, and more on Matt Craw can be found at his official website.
