A POSITIVE SELF-IMAGE PAGEANT IN RED BANK

Press release from Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County

On Friday, May 16, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County (BGCM) is sponsoring its first “Loving the Skin I’m In” pageant on May 16th from 5-7 pm. Young ladies ages 5-13 are encouraged to participate in this fun, encouraging, and self-esteem enhancing event.

“We wanted to give all of our girls an opportunity to build their confidence and truly celebrate and embrace their individuality,” stated Christy Crank, Director of BGCM’s Red Bank Unit. “The event is designed to guide these young people towards developing positive and healthy attitudes about themselves.” The pageant comprises a talent presentation, formalwear showcase, and a question and answer period. All girls will receive a sash for participating.

Three age groups will be crowned:  Mini Princess 5-6, Junior Princess 7-9, and Mini Queen 10-13. The price for pageant entry or attendance is $5 for children ($2 for BGCM members) and $10 for adults. The event will be held at Celestial Lodge, 141 Dr. James Parker Blvd in Red Bank.

For more information about the “Loving the Skin I’m In” pageant, please contact Christy Crank at [email protected], or (732)530-0065.
