A Red Bank woman and her toddler son were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning.
Esmerelda Perez, 28, and her three-year-old son were crossing Shrewsbury Avenue between River and Catherine streets at about 9:26 a.m. when they were hit, said police Chief Darren McConnell.
They were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. No condition report was available Tuesday afternoon.
The pair were not in the crosswalk when they were struck, McConnell said.
Still, driver David Mitchell, 22, of Spring Lake Heights, was issued a summons for careless driving based on a responding officer’s determination that he had been inattentive, McConnell said.
