LADY KNIGHTS WRAP SUPER SOFTBALL SEASON

knollwoodsoftball-3463895Press release from Fair Haven School District

In a performance that’s been described as “spectacular,” the girls softball team at Knollwood School in Fair Haven enjoyed a standout season, finishing with a record of 11-2 and making it all the way to the Championship game against Tinton Falls on June 2.

Their only losses were to Tinton Falls — once during the regular season, and again in the Championship game in which they were the lower seed but still fought hard.

“We had a phenomenal season, and it was extremely exciting,” said Coach and Knollwood sixth grade literacy teacher Christina Jarosinski. “All of the players were fantastic, and I will be very sorry to say goodbye to the eighth grade girls who are leaving us.”

The eighth grade players who will graduate from Knollwood School this year are catcher Ellie Gibney, first base player Julia Hearn, and second base player Katelyn Lucci.

Also on the roster for the Knollwood Knights softball team are Alina Arko, Jane Banahan, Sarah Finley, Kirstin Felsmann, Jeannie Gagliano, Jackie Hanson, Dana Liberi, Erin McKay, Amanda Merton, Maggie Ryan, Julia Tambaro, and Gillian Thorp.

Season highlights for the team include placing first in the North Division of the Coastal Intermediate Softball League, as well as being named runners-up in the Coastal Intermediate Softball League.
