The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, apparently fell inside the peaked attic in a section of the school while conducting an annual inspection of the alarm system, authorities on the scene said.
“It’s like a maze and trusses and rafters in there,” said one cop.
The incident began around 11 a.m., when the victim fell an unknown distance, authorities said. He suffered a knee injury and was rendered immobile, they said.
Police and firefighters gained access to the hot attic via a hatch on a lower section of roof, and after about an hour removed the victim, lowering him slowly down the ladder of Navesink Hook & Ladder Company’s Ladder 91.
He was taken by MONOC ambulance to Riverview Medical Center with injuries that were said not to be life-threatening.
