A shooting in which a vehicle was struck by at least one bullet Monday night is believed to be related to two shootings in November, Red Bank Mayor Pasquale Menna tells redbankgreen.
“The good thing is no one was injured” in the latest incident, which occurred at about 8 p.m. near Leighton Avenue and West Westside Avenue, Menna said.
Police do not believe any individual was the intended target, he said.
“It seems that the car that was struck was targeted,” he said. “It’s not a random act.”
He said the latest shooting, and two in November, appear to be based on a specific “relationship.”
Further details were not immediately available. Menna said police Chief Darren McConnell and other officials would release more information Tuesday morning.
A man and woman were shot and critically injured as they sat in a pickup truck on West Sunset Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. on November 6. Two days later, a parked car was riddled with bullets on River Street in broad daylight.
