Two men were found “severely” beaten and semiconscious in a Red Bank house Monday morning, police said.
Little information was available at 12:30 p.m., as police cars and ambulances lined the street, between Branch Avenue and South Street.
Police Chief Darren McConnell said two men were found inside the small residence, at 46 East Bergen. Both were semi-conscious, he said.
The circumstances in which the beatings were reported and the identities of the victims were not immediately released.
McConnell said he hoped to have more information early in the afternoon.
A neighbor said a young man had moved into the house about a year ago, and appeared to live alone.
“He seemed nice,” she said. “We did ‘the wave’ every morning.'”
