Nicolette DeVito of Rumson placed first in the long jump and third in the 100-meter dash for girls 13 and 14 years old at the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics in Somerset on Sunday.
She will now advance to the USAT&F Regionals in each event in June.
Nicolette, who began running just two years ago and long jumping last year, is a seventh-grader at Forrestdale School, where she’s on the track team. She also loves lacrosse and plays for United Lacrosse in Little Silver.
