RUMSON: WORKOUT IN MEMORY OF HENNE

robert-henne-032014-153x220-3274724In honor of Robert Henne, right, a 23-year-old Fair Haven special police officer who died in March, the borough PBA plans a heavy-duty Crossfit “hero workout” challenge on Saturday, July 18.

The daylong outdoor event featuring a 1,000-meter row, sled pull and more – is to be held at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High, where Henne played football and was a member of the track team.

“He was one of my track kids,” said Bill Lagrotteria, PBA Local #184 president, who coached Henne in discus and shot put at RFH. As policemen, the two would often work out together at the school before or after their shifts, so organizing a memorial workout day, or WOD, there “seemed right,” he said.

Funds raised from the $35 participation fees will be donated to the Henne family, said Lagrotteria. Registration and additional information is here. (Photos by John T. Ward. Click to enlarge)
