Press release from The Community YMCA
On the evening of Saturday, September 26, The Community YMCA will be hosting its Y Cares Annual Benefit, an event dedicated to the Y’s ongoing community programs and initiatives at its Monmouth County facilities, including the Family Health and Wellness Center in Red Bank.
Board members Bryan Kuderna and Remsen Straub (pictured left to right, with CYMCA President and CEO Rhonda Anderson) have been named co-committee chairmen for the event, a fundraiser for the Y Cares financial assistance program for kids and families in need of free and reduced program and membership fees, as well as community initiatives such as water safety programs for at-risk youth.
During the event, scheduled for 5:30 pm at Camp Arrowhead in Marlboro, the signature summer day camp of the Shrewsbury-based CYMCA, the organization will honor William O. George III, Ed.D, Superintendent of Middletown Township Schools, with the Distinguished Citizen Service Award. The Middletown Township School District will also be recognized with the Community Partner Award.
Support for the benefit will help the Y ensure that everyone — regardless of age, income or background — has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive through Y programs such as afterschool care, youth sports, health and wellness, swim lessons, summer camp, teen leadership and counseling and social services.
Information on individual tickets, sponsorships and ads in the event journal is available here, or by calling the Y at (732)671-5505, ext. 141.
