Press release from Brookdale Community College
Beginning on April 18, local residents may qualify for free or reduced cost massage therapy training offered through Brookdale Community College.
Residents interested in learning more about the program and available grant opportunities are invited to a free information session on March 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. inside the Student Life Center building on the Lincroft campus. Parking is in lots 6 and 7, and a tour of Brookdale’s massage training lab will also be available.
State and federal grant funding is available for eligible students who enroll in Brookdale’s nine-month massage therapy certification program, which prepares students to become licensed massage therapists in New Jersey. Partial and full grant funding is available.
Massage therapy courses are offered on nights and weekends and include topics such as Swedish massage, shiatsu, reflexology, sports massage and aromatherapy as well as general courses in hygiene, ethics and business practices. The program also includes a comprehensive review for the New Jersey Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam.
Pre-registration is required for the March 29 information session, and can be reserved by calling Priscilla Mullings at (732)224-2813 or emailing [email protected]. To learn more visit www.brookdalecc.edu/massage-therapy.
