LITTLE SILVER: BIG TENT, BIG ST. PAT’S PARTY

Little Silver Fire St. Pat'sIt’s become as sure a signifier of the St. Patrick’s Day season as leprechauns, shamrocks and wearin’ o’ the green. On Saturday, March 12, and for the eighth consecutive year, the members of the Little Silver Fire Company Station 23-1 will once again host an all-ages fundraiser event that’s become a fast favorite of folks all over the greater Green.

Going on between the hours of 3 and 10 pm in the field adjacent to the firehouse at 480 Prospect Avenue, the fun takes place under a big heated tent, with plenty of Irish food and beer/wine open bar (plus kid-friendly beverages and food faves) to further ward off any lingering seasonal chill.

Also featured will be live Irish music and dance throughout the event, as well as a 50/50 raffle and drawings for additional prizes (including a large-screen TV). A “Kids’ Fun Zone” will be set up inside the firehouse, and free trolley service will be offered during evening hours to designated stops throughout the borough of Little Silver.

All proceeds benefit the operations of the borough’s all-volunteer fire department, with tickets ($50 adults; $10 ages 13-20) available at the door or online right here. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free, and sponsorship opportunities are still available, with details available here.
