Red Bank Regional’s week-three football game at home against Holmdel, scheduled for Friday, was postponed Wednesday due to an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease among Holmdel players, Shore Sports Zone reports.
Holmdel is the eighth New Jersey high school to be affected by the illness this season, SSZ reports. The RBR-Holmdel matchups at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels were affected. No new date has been set.
Because they have a bye week next week, the 1-2 varsity Buccaneers won’t take the field again until October 15, when they face Monmouth Regional on the road. (Photo courtesy of Shore Sports Zone)
