RED BANK: WEST SIDE TREE LIGHTING, SANTA FIRE TRUCK VISITS ON TAP

By BRIAN DONOHUE

Now that the holiday lights are on and the trees are lit, it’s time for the next spectacles on the Red Bank holiday season schedule.

There’s the west side tree lighting, a chance to schedule a visit to your home from Santa via firetruck (I can’t imagine how that would have blown the mind of four-year-old me) free trolley rides and more.

  • The West Side tree lighting takes place at Johnny Jazz Park, corner of Drs. James Parker Boulevard and Shrewsbury Avenue, Friday at 6 p.m.

  • The December 12 deadline is approaching to register children for Navesink Hook & Ladder’s annual Santa Present Drop, a time honored, mind-blowing, smile-inducing ritual in which Santa Claus arrives at a child’s home ON A FIRE TRUCK and delivers a present. There’s all crucial info in the flyer below or at Navesink Hook & Ladder web site here. Those kids grow up fast. Don’t delay.

  • This weekend there will be free trolley rides downtown courtesy of RiverCenter. The trolley runs December 7,8,14 and 15 from 12pm to 4pm. All rides are FREE! Enjoy holiday music in between stops. The trolley stops on Bridge Avenue (Edmund Wilson Plaza), Mechanic Street (between Char and Dor L’ Dor, and Broad Street (in front of Yestercades)
