Here’s the answer to last week’s “Where.”
Last week’s shot was the alley between the Two River Theatre building at 21 Bridge Avenue (on the left) and the brick former factory building at 25 Bridge Ave.
The modern building on the left houses the theater’s administrative offices. 25 Bridge Avenue is home to a long list of creative type businesses, from the developer Metrovation East, to Town and Country Design Studios, the studio of photographer Danny Sanchez and marketing firm Brand Groupies.
The folks at Metrovation tell us the building was part of the Sigmund Eisner Company‘s complex which made uniforms for the armed services and Boy Scouts.
The building is visible on the right side of this Red Bank Public library archives photo of showing the larger Eisner factory (now the Galleria) across the street. The photo is dated around 1920.
A few respondents commented on the photo’s juxtaposition of old and new architecture and materials.
As Mark Taylor put it, “Nice juxtaposition of the new architecture and the old brick building – great photo!”
We thought so too, which is why the alley caught our eye.
