Here’s the answer to last week’s “Where.”

39 Monmouth Street Monmouth Stamp and Coin Shop

Clearly based on the fact that we received NO WRONG GUESSES! last week’s photo could only have been one place: The Last week’s  the old wooden chest overflowing with coins is in the window of Monmouth Stamp & Coin Shop at 39 Monmouth Street. The store itself – from the endless rows of eye candy to the retro feel of the interior and the quiet library-like vibe  – is a treasure in itself.

The place is chock full of old coins and sports trading cards. We very nearly spent $15 on an old Don Zimmer card as a Father’s Day gift. The store has been there since 1953, but owner Jules Topfer yelled from the back room during our visit that “I’ve only been here since 1963.”

Oh and for the record, while the store does sell many valuable collectible coins, the ones in the chest in the window are mostly just foreign coins worth, well, not a heck of a lot.

Congrats to all those who replied for nailing this one:  Dorothy Niemczyk, Ellie and Patty Munro, Yvonne MacDonald, Seena Goldman, Janet Giersch, Bill and Judy Fraser, Peg Roskowinski, Nancy Keyes, Mike Austin, Joan Hebert, The Colmorgen Kids, Christopher Havens, Adele Murphy, Jill Stevenson, John Talarico, Chuck Stern, Errico Vescio, Michael McKee.

I hope I got everyone. Please email or text me immediately if we missed you at [email protected] or 848-331-8331. Your sharp eyes and hustle should be properly rewarded.
