PHOTOS: SNOWMEN RISE ACROSS RED BANK

 After the shovellers had done their job following Sunday’s snowstorm, a different kind of creature emerged in force in the front yards of Red Bank: snowmen. The past few winters have been duds in terms of snow, so we hit the salty streets to see what kind of pent up creativity folks had been harboring.

 

Here’s redbankgreen’s official snowman photographic census, taken before they all disappear with Thursday’s forecasted warm and rainy weather. 

We took so many snowman photos that we forgot what street this one’s on. We’d ask Santa but he doesn’t seem up for it. 

When you build a snowman taller than you’ve earned the right to wear shorts in single-digit wind chills. Connor and Preston Lunn with the snowman in their front yard on Spring Street. So well built and crafted, but then what happened? The temperatures had not gotten above freezing between the storm and the time this photos was taken on Mechanic Street. So what happened? Did the snowman wander too close to the Solo Stove? Or was it just time for dinner, so everyone went inside before they got around to the eyes and whatnot?

The greatest snowman ever built. Just a perfect snowman. Melting? Missing its mouth? That’s all a hoax. 

Lots of Christmas spirit here. But that all too familiar holiday season feeling that, well, something’s missing. 

Three big snowballs and two bottles of Blue Moon beer is all you need. We’ll call this one Old Bluemooneyes.

We all feel like this some winter mornings. 

Overheard inside the house in the background on South Pearl Street: “Honey, have you seen that red and green brush broom thingie?”

Rigo’s Barbershop on Shrewsbury Avenue, always a center of fun and hilarity in all seasons, brings it home with the Snowman de Resistance.
