Here’s the answer to last week’s “Where.”
Last week’s photo was of the brick and glass office building at 70 East Front Street. The building, located across the street from Riverview Medical Center, houses medical offices. The photo above reveals a jarring contrast in architectural styles between it and the older home converted to offices next door.
Besides reminding one of the Soviet era with its architecture, the building’s bright green synthetic lawn also tickles this Gen Xer’s memory by harkening back to the Astroturf fields of the multi-use stadiums on which Major League Baseball games were played back then. One could almost imagine St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Ozzie Smith doing his patented backflip on the lawn, although these days Smith would more likely be headed inside for cataract surgery at Dr. Friedberg’s Office on the fifth floor as we did recently.
Speaking of ophthalmology, “Where” regular Sue Noone said she’s not used to seeing the building clearly as her eyes are usually dialated as she exits!
Most participants nailed this one, although one person guessed it was the Galleria and another guessed the Two River Theater.
