Here’s the answer to last week’s “Where.”
Last week’s photo was a shot of the saffron colored curtains in the window of Beijing Bistro Chinese restaurant at 91 Broad Street. We were walking by in the afternoon on a recent frigid day and were struck by the long rays of the winter “golden hour” sun that were hitting the curtains. There’s not a lot of color in the landscape this time of year. You have to take it where you can get it.
Two people guessed it was Buena Sera restaurant, another guessed it was the Count Basie Theater or the Vogel. Another wrong guess was La Pasteria.
Kathy Horbort got it right, and shared her childhood memories of a candy store in that location named Birnn’s, where she would go after mass at St. James church.
