Tucked in a corner of Red Bank between a Nissan dealership and an electrical substation, litter-strewn Mohawk Pond is like the forgotten stepchild in a town where the beautiful Navesink River takes center stage.
Some locals grumble that the bacteria-laden basin should be drained once and for all and turned into a skatepark or a parking lot.
But for believers up and down the Eastern seaboard, it has become a place to come for a cure for everything from migraines to gout.
