Here’s the answer to last week’s “Where.”
Last week’s photo was the back of a “Thank You” sign at the exit of the parking lot at The Anderson Building, Red Bank’s shining example of adaptive reuse that should make every developer who bulldozes a century-old structure lie awake at night with a deep sense of shame.
There’s surprisingly much to like in this seemingly mundane scene.
Green-minded folks might appreciate the porous concrete used for the lot, which prevents stormwater runoff (a prime source of water pollution) into the nearby Navesink River.
Architecture fans might appreciate the use of wood and brick that developers Metrovation used when building the addition to the old Anderson Moving & Storage Building.
Foodies might look at this picture and start thinking about the array of offerings inside the Anderson Market food hall. (Been to Namkeen yet?)
And proponents of civilility and good manner will appreciate the one last “Thank you” as they pull out onto Shrewsbury Avenue.
We only got two tries for this one, two loyal Where players Chris Havens (who incorrectly guessed this was a sign by Boondocks Fishery – a good guess given the wood construction) and Chuck Stern, who conceded this was a toughie, but nailed it nonetheless.
