RED BANK FIRE DEPARTMENT GETS SWEET DONATION

Next time you see Red Bank’s volunteer firefighters zooming past on their way to a call or emergency, keep this in mind: some small part of their efforts were paid for by a cookie and lemonade sale held by a trio of fifth graders.

Indra Isaaks and friends Alla Mills and Lila Judice baked cookies, cupcakes, cake bars and made lemonade, then sold the goodies at a stand set up at Indra’s family’s South Street home during Porchfest last Saturday.

They raised $421 and donated the earnings to both the Red Bank Fire Department and the Red Bank Middle School student council.

They were invited to the regular meeting of Navesink Hook & Ladder last week, where they presented their $200 donation to the RBFD.

The Red Bank volunteer Fire Department is currently in the midst of its annual fund drive.
