The owner of a one-story industrial building next to the NJ Transit Tracks and Count Basie Park is seeking to knock the building down and build a new two-story office/industrial building.

The Red Bank Planning Board will consider the application by 1 Park Place LLC to remove the existing buildings on the property and build a two-story 6,480 square foot mixed use industrial/commercial and office building, according to the board agenda.

The existing building, which consists of offices, garages and shop is the home to  Monmouth Pool Service, a swimming pool maintenance company that rents the property.

1 Park Place LLC, whose registered agent is listed as Paul Notaro, purchased the building from Paul and Mary Siciliano of Eatontown for $760,000 according to a deed recorded in October, 2025 by the Monmouth County Clerk’s office.

Monmouth Pool Service owner Bill Castle said he didn’t know anything about the owner’s plans to build a new building until a redbankgreen reporter came poking around. He said his company has called the address home for more than a decade.

“Where do they hold these meetings?’ he asked. “I think I might go.”

Also on the agenda is the latest application in what constitutes a big trend along the West Side in recent years: an application by the owners of a single-family house at 106 Leighton Avenue to subdivide the property into two lots so an additional home can be built on the property.

The Planning Board meeting begins at 7 pm Wednesday at Borough Hall, 90 Monmouth Street. It can also be viewed via zoom at this link.
