Press release from Two River Theater Company

In a partnership designed to deepen relationships between Two River Theater and the Music and Theater Arts Department at Monmouth University, the Red Bank performing arts center and the West Long Branch-based university have announced a new Student Ambassador Program, facilitated by Department Chair Joe Rapolla and Professor Sheri Anderson.

Three “Student Ambassadors” — sophomore Molly Huber, senior Samantha Myers, and junior Nick Zaccario — have been selected to lead the program for this inaugural season. The students will work closely with Two River’s marketing team to help create special programs and opportunities for their campus peers, starting with the theater’s upcoming production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, which hosts its first preview on Saturday, November 14. Opportunities being explored include access to backstage tours and technical rehearsals; workshop/Q&A sessions with actors and/or designers, and more.

As part of the specific duties outlined for the participating Student Ambassadors, Molly Huber is assisting the Marketing Department (directed by Courtney Perez) with the “Inside Two River” program (a series of free arts and humanities events specifically curated for each production) by promoting events on campus and helping to run events. Huber will also have a hand in helping to brainstorm upcoming events throughout the season. She will work one-on-one with Associate Director of Marketing Cassie Galasetti.

Samantha Myers has been successful in recruiting 41 students to fill volunteer usher positions for each performance of Forum. Through her work, students will be able to gain experience working in a professional regional theater, collect volunteer hours for on campus clubs, and watch the production free of charge. Myers will work side by side with Two River’s House Manager Angela White to oversee scheduling and communicate protocol to all student ushers.

Nick Zaccario is focusing his efforts on social media marketing to inform students of upcoming Two River events, performances, and opportunities. Zaccario will work with Multimedia Manager Alycia Yerves to strategize and implement social media campaigns across a variety of social media platforms.
